I’m suddenly finding the benefit in teenaged kids. I finally have a wife. I leave them a list of chores and when I get home they are….kinda done. It’s a learning lesson for us all. I have let go of needing my house to be as clean as I would like it and they are learning to take care of themselves.
This week they each made dinner. The goose made spaghetti and the bug made green chili. It has initiated fine food war of one-upsmanship where by stubby hubs hunk and I reap the spoils.
After the bug’s dinner and the raving had died down he asked if I still write that blog. Clearly he is not my biggest fan. I asked if he wanted me to write about his dinner. He thought that would be wonderful.
So here goes:
It was a delightfully balanced dish. The cilantro and blend of peppers married perfectly with the bright acid of the lime. The turkey breast was cooked to perfection. I give it a 9 1/2. The chef should keep it in their repertoire.
In the words of the bug ” you gotta talk me up sometimes to fend off my middle child syndrome.”
We my second of only two, I hope this does the trick.
