When life gives you a dish of topsie turvie town it’s a good idea to reevaluate how you plod through life. No matter how sure footed you may feel, life is about the nip and tuck. As someone once said, if you keep finding yourself knocking your head against the same dirty wall, it may have more to do with you than the rest of the world. Ok maybe someone didn’t use those exact words, but the sentiment holds true.
My dirty wall…relationships. Forever I thought “love me or leave me”. I have realized over the course of the last couple of years that both people must bend to some degree. Just enough to reach compromise. Not enough to break. That to be loved for who we are we must be prepared to do the same for others. That truly what we owe each other is honestly. The kind that doesn’t always feel great. To embrace those who can do this. Acknowledging the risk that they take and that they choose is all the same.
In my Polly Anna world I am appreciative of this loss we suffer through for the lessons that we have learned about one another. While we miss her dearly, we can do this together. That as hard as it is. We see the same image as we close our eyes. There can be safety in numbers. I embrace it.
