There is a fine line between advocacy and meddling. Do you stand up for someone who is having difficulty standing up for themselves or keep your head down and mind your business? Be mindful that there are consequences no matter the choice you make. In some instances there are lessons to be learned by the person in perceived need of advocacy. Is it your call to hinder that learning? Sometimes doing nothing is harder than standing up. I am learning that even if you are motivated to voice the feelings of the crowd, the crowd may fall away when you stand to speak. That speaking up isn’t always the best for all parties involved.
