last night was my fireworks show. everyone loved the “beast” and i kept all of my fingers…so all in all it was a great time. at some point the conversation turned to relationships. i shared a story that i had heard on NPR. the interview was of a married couple. both of which were therapists. the husband said that while it is important to be able to make it through the tough times together, the strongest relationships are the ones where the couple acknowledge how lucky they are to have each other. the ones that every once in a while sit back together and say to one another, “isn’t this great.”
well, i come by my sarcasm honestly, so “i’m so lucky” became the catch phrase of the evening. if someone made a dick head comment, (which happens a lot. it’s how we have fun.) their partner would say, “you know, i’m so lucky.” oh and how we laughed.
stubs in all his cleverness turned it into ,”you know, i’d like to get lucky”…..um cuz that’s how he rolls.
all sarcasm aside, the message is to tell the people you care about how important they are to you. it doesn’t cost anything and just might make their day.
have a great holiday weekend ya’all,
